Here’s some Rituals, Reminders and Tips on how to support your growth and bring in a cleanse.
—Start cleansing away any stagnation, practice a body vibration illumination Vinyasa yoga class and Yin Restorative Body Wash class with me, this theme for weekly classes will move you through this next month of practices with a fresh perspective. I’ll be infusing herbal cleanse teas and a beautiful Aloe and cucumber mists by @plantmakeup these products are directly sourced from the earth, holding the purest vibration. Learn how to re energise yourself, cleanse your mind and help your body to clear itself of toxins. I’ll be infusing little practices that focus on opening the lymphatics, to help keep the body flowing, releasing toxic load and to bring in better energy levels—you’ll feel great. I’m also teaching a spring cleanse sanctuary at the beautiful Japanese gardens for April, a combination of yoga, body vibration and and brain wave practices, with a mini sound bath vibrational healing to awaken and refresh you within. Practicing more regularly can really help create a habit around moving your body so you’ll feel better and have more energy.
— Rest and meditate, you’ll be clearing the path for planting the seeds into something bright to come your way, manifest and attract in the future you want to create for your body, mind and soul. How? Simply slow down your pace, in all that you do. Soothe that vibration of rush. Allow ideas to form naturally before rushing into action and really ask yourself, what do I want ? How do I want my body to feel? Start by being clear on boundries, what no longer serves you? what feels toxic? Putting into your week some routines or rhythms that help your days flow and feel better! where in the day/week can you take more time in for some rest? With quality moments in peace you’ll start to recognise more and more of what drains your energy.
Are there people or places in your life that only give off an energy that constantly drains you! Taking space can bring in realisations.
Rest is power! Rest is healing, it’s not an escape from pain it’s a confrontation with it, and with that you’ll get to know yourself again and again and you’ll know what you need to keep healing.
An easy question to ask yourself is “does this person or place feel healing to me”. This doesn’t mean to say you ditch the friend or family member who is going through a bad time and is perhaps leaning on your energy resources or when you’re in the midst’s of temporary chaos… but you know in your heart if there are people “close” to you who are taking advantage, how do these people make you really feel when your in their presence and when you come away from them? If there is gossiping about others going on more than likely this means they will be doing the same thing about you behind your back! These are the people that you want to think twice about giving your time and energy to! How do certain environments make you feel?
Tune into sensation. It tells the story of everything we absorb and hold! Give yourself space and time in reflection. Then commit to a cleansing.
—Listen: Pay attention to dreams, intuition, and synchronicities. If you can take more moments of pause this kind of inner knowing gets stronger, with moments of no input ( loud noise, tv, screen time) or output ( a break from working, any doing, talking) you’ll start to think more clearly, receive messages and in moments ask the questions you want the answers to! Ask and you can receive. Listen to what comes.
—Prepare: Clear space, physically and energetically, for new beginnings. Spend a morning or day cleaning your home, your garden, your space! Organise and de-clutter. Keeping your house clean is a form of spiritual protection—bring in the outdoors with crystals, flowers and plants, burn a little sage or palo santo ( it may just sound woo woo) but I personally love the smell and newness feel of doing this ritual, I also love feng shui and I’ll be re-arranging my home and items for this spring new year to bring in fresh clarity and a change of perspective! It always feels like it brings a good reminder of this! Putting love and care into your space, your home, the foods you cook is sacred.
—Use the elements of Earth and Water within early spring to embody the energy that moves within this time. Practice a ritual of Earth ( to ground and take rest). The earth qualities feel slow, stable, grounding and supportive…Go on visual sensory walks to just notice what’s slowly unfolding and growing up from the earth —The first buds appearing on trees, bird song and the lengthening of daylight. Take off your shoes and let your feet touch the earth. Absorb!
Consume earthy foods that grow and are abundant during this time. I love making wild garlic and pea pesto, wild garlic and root vegetable soup, Rubarb crumble, roast lamb! Nourish with Soul food. Perhaps you can cook a meal and take a moment of gratitude for what you are about to eat, this new season brings in a different platter of goodness— connect with it! We are not designed to rush down our foods whilst paying no attention to it, watching a screen whilst eating through working or at home. Food is your medicine.
follow my instagram and blog here for recipes of more soul food and let preparing food, cooking and eating become a ritual not just a routine.
Immerse in water ( for flow, to cleanse and hydrate) this quality offers a cool refreshing and calming experience, start your day with a natural lemon electrolyte drink for hydration — in a tall glass add filtered water, a squeeze of lemon, a little honey and mix! Instead of adding the pinch of sea salt place it on your tongue for better absorption, then take a sip! tequila style… but to cleanse the liver! I also love body tapping with my bamboo bundle stick, simply tapping the body, legs, back, arms and abdomen gets into the rivers of the body —boosting rich oxygenated blood flow and supporting lymphatics! Leaving the skin feeling tingling and fresh.
Take your morning showers with a blast of ice cold water for at least 30 seconds to wake up, boost your immune system and let energy flow, you can also alternate switching cold and hot for a blood flow boost, hang eucalyptus up so the steam penetrates the leaves and releases an incredible aroma that clears congestion from the chest and nasal passages. Great for catarrh asthma chesty coughs—Cleanse!
Another nourishing ritual that I love is to take a hot shower after using a caster oil pack. Castor oil is great for supporting liver detoxification, helpful for hormone inbalance as the livers job is to flush out excess hormones and toxins! Which can all be hindered by toxic overload and the liver can become sluggish! This practice has many benefits for inner cleansing, it also aids in anti inflammatory support, soothes menstral pains and can improve energy levels in the process (caution is needed if you are pregnant as castor oil is not advised until very late stage, as it can be used as way to help induce labour).
For an evening ritual relax in a warm herbal sitz bath ( add dried herbs and flowers) my favourite infusions are yarrow, calendula, lavender, camomile and sea salts) and just float and let any remains of the winter body melt away!
