Chocolate Pots 🤎

These homemade chocolate pots are divine and packed with goodness…

So, if you are a chocolate lover like me than these will be the perfect treat…. With a healthy twist!

High in fibre, potassium, magnesium, maganese and vitamins E, C + K. The cacao has several amazing benefits that improve mood and support nervous system functions and are especially nourishing through women’s menstrual cycle as it can help to ease cramping during menstruation, while the antioxidants help to reduce inflammation.

This beautiful rich chocolate pot contains high levels of plant based iron, zinc and magnesium – all essential nutrients for a healthy menstrual cycle and relief from any period cramps or low mood!

For men also…Cacao is so good for your hormones too, comforting and soothing from exhaustion and over work.

I started making these whilst experimenting with cacao powder back in 2014, when I was recovering from sleep deprivation from being a mummy with a babe that didn’t sleep a lot! I used cacao as a pick me up support drink because it contains caffeine ( I stopped drinking pure coffee since my body responds to it in a way that makes me feel too wired) so I needed the theobromine levels to help balance out the tiredness I felt, but in a more gentle way…And it helped.

Cacao also contains tryptophan, an amino acid which can be converted to melatonin – a hormone important for feelings of sleepiness which I really needed during this time, so I find in small amounts raw cacao can also help to ground and relax the body too.

I have perfected the recipe since and continue to enjoy cacao for these reasons.

Simply just put the entire list of ingredients into a food blender/ processor and you’ll end up with a chocolate mousse texture, it won’t be the fluffy ( bubble) mousse— it’s slightly heavier and rich, so this is why it is best served in pots rather than dressert bowls. A little goes a long way for it to give you that chocolate hit.

serves 4 ( chocolate pots)

1 ripe and ready large  banana

1 perfectly soft Avocado

5-7 soft medjool dates ( depending on how sweet you’d like it) and be sure to slice in half so the blender gets them!

1 big tbsp of Raw honey

1 tbsp smoothe Almond butter ( I love meridian) but any smoothe organic/ pure nut butter is fine.

2 big tbsp of Raw Cacao chocolate powder ( I use Naturya organic) pure cacao bean.

you’ll need to add a splash of filtered water to help it mix together and check the consistency, if needed a splash more but be careful not to add more than necessary. This is just to get the ingredients combining.

I served with double cream ( Yeo valley organic) and used an electric or hand held whisk to whip it up a little thicker. Add a generous spoonful on top of the chocolate pot.

full of chocolate goodness and a healthy alternative to sweeten up the day!

Enjoy 🤎
